The mine that contains Tanzanite is found beneath the hills of Meralani which is near the mountain of kilimanjaro. What a lot of people don’t know is that Tanzanite doesn’t come out of the mine in a blue color it’s actually green. It’s then heat treated and this gives it that special blue and slightly purple color. Tanzanite is rare and of limited supply. The mine has only 12 to 30 years before it dries up and then there’s no more Tanzanite until another supply can be found and it hasn’t yet.
